Biography

Inver, made up of three highly acclaimed folk instrumentalists, deliver brand new music rooted in the Celtic style. Rune Barslund (whistles & accordion) and Kevin Lees (fiddle) combine the familiar traditional sound of fast flowing tunes together with unique self-composed material and tasteful arrangements, giving the band a particular sound in the genre. The singing tone of the violin and the soft preciseness of the whistle harmonise beautifully in slow, dreamy pieces, whilst the addition of the punchy accordion adds an underlying drive to keep everyone’s feet tapping. The trio is made up with Simon Nyberg (guitar) adding sparkle and complexity, often challenging the musical arrangement whilst giving a very modern feel to their sound. Expect captivating arrangements, a variety of musical emotions, and musicianship of the highest order.
